Another One Of Those Days...

Was just finding consciousness this morning when my phone rang. Got a call from Peri. Said she had news that wasn't good. I thought she meant that somethign happened that I wouldn't be able to crash at her place this weekend for sectionals after all. but no...that theory was quickly dispelled as she told me that John Grossi died last night. I didn't know that he was sick.
His death will not affect me to the extent that it will others. I was not particularly close to him, but I would consider him a friend, and besides that, a Brother of Alpha Phi Omega.
The first time I met Grossi was a few months after I moved back to PA from Dallas. He picked me up at the train station in New Brnswick, NJ for a CPW at Rutgers...that was one messy weekend. Later that night he sat with me in the hall of a movie theater waiting for an ambulance after I fell and cut my forehead...the result of that is that somewhere in New Brunswick is a paper with his signature on it attesting to my sanity and mental capability when I made the descision to not go to the hospital.
Thw other thing that happened today is that I think someone may be following me in the neighborhood. Today I went to the grocery store and a van drove by and honked the horn...I didn't see who it was but thought nothing of it, I know a lot of people, several that live in the neighborhood. When I left the store, I saw the van again...it honked again, this time I got enough of a glance at the driver to see that it looked like it could have been Anthony, my former boss at Rite Aid...and then it came down the street the other way about 2 minutes later. I couldn't see the driver this time, but I knew that it wasn't Anthony. I started shaking and kept walking home, the van disappeared around a corner. I walked up the steps just as I was about to open the door, I heard a voice say "Hey baby what's up?" I turned around and saw the van again...and got just enough of a look at the driver to A. concretely confirm that it was indeed NOT Anthony, and B. looked like it could possibly be someone that I had seen before....instead of pulling out my keys, I knocked on the door, and when it drove away again a few seconds later I opened the door and got inside. James was here. I told him what happened.
The brief look that I got of the guy looked like it could be someone I had seen before...If anyone recalls me telling them (Or, I'm pretty sure I had posted) about a guy with no pants on trying to talk me into his car back in September...that's who it looks like it could *possibly* be.
Also, the other day I was outside playing with poi and a car drove up and sat in front of the house for quite some time...I didn't get a look at the driver- the car's windows were very darkly tinted, and I didn't think much of it at the time...figured it was for one of the neighbors, or possibly, just someone fascinated by poi. It could be, I have know way of knowing if that car and the blue van today were connected.
I called the police. An officer came out and took a report. I had no truly accurate description and no license plate number, but at least it's on file. Officer told me to just call 911 right away if I saw it again, but he was a bit of a butthead, asked things like "Why do you think someone would want to follow you around and try to get your attention?" ("Well gee officer, I don't know...I didn't really try to make conversation with the guy."
I'm going to New York for a few days later this week...other than that, I've pretty much decided that if I see the van or another car following me again I'm going to go camp out elsewhere til Thursday (place has been established)
