Tempting Idea..

If I worked like, constant overtime between now and Christmas, I could concievably save enough money to not have to work for 2 or 3 months, then I could just quit the tech support gig at the end of the year and devote my time to looking for a new job, and suppliment my savings by bumming around serving coffee in a cafe, or working in a bokstore or something...

How much would it kill me? I *REALLY* need to think about this.

it can form a habit

numbers took me all of about 3 minutes to account for. that's NOT an issue, i could save the money easily. it's...am i willing to take that much continuous abuse?

Just throwing out ideas here...

You could also pick up another "Christmas rush" job and maybe try to network into another job using that method- like at a computer/electronics store, or something.

with the job that i have now, and the way they like to do cute things like change the schedule on a moments notice...it wouldn't be very realistic. plus if they keep scheduling me for closing hours, there aren't going to be a lot of places that want to hire someone to work 2 hours in the morning or one weekday/week...if i were to do this, the only realistic way to go would be with masses of overtime at the current job
