In China, Bush Urges Religious Freedom

(Is that religious freedom, or Christian freedom?)

‘Happy holidays': Offensive?

(Jesus is *not the only* reason for the season. Happy Yule, folks.)

As to the first, considering George Bush has appointed Jews and Muslims (albeit in line with his conservative mantra) to various positions, I think he does feel for religious freedom.

As for the second part, Bill O'Reilly is just one voice. But I read his article (The transcrpt is available on FoxNews - I suggest everyone read the whole transcript. I tend to read most of the famous columnists on both sides of the aisle) and he does have one point: people get upset about Merry Christmas, however well-intentioned. Don't get me wrong: I use Happy Holidays because I have a bunch of friends from different religions. So, unless I'm in church, I trot out Happy Holidays. But if someone says "Merry Christmas", and you're not christian, simply smile, say "Happy Holidays". They weren't trying to offend, they were trying to be nice.
