Does anyone know where I could buy chain weight for curtains?

At pagan pride day (and people also have int eh past at Playa Del Puego), I've seen people with these big fabric squares, their corners lined with chain weight, and they're basically twirled around like flags, the weights allow this to work without additional structure....the visual effect is that of a fan dance with really huge fans and with the right material, it's amazingly cool.

I'd try a length of thick chain of your choice at your favorite hardware store. I suspect that the trickier part might be finding a strong enough fabric and ebmedding the chain sufficiently securely.

actually, I've seen these things made with some surprisingly flimsy fabrics (they tend to "flow" better), seems mostly to be a matter of doubling or tripling up the material at the point where it's being sewn. The curtain weight isn't very heavy, and is actually a length of chain encased in some sort of tubing..though I wonder if hardware stores might not have something like that.
