Holy fucking spam gods, Batman...

Two weeks ago, I got another email from Tim the Avon Lady, as I mentioned in my last LJ post. I sent him an email telling him to knock it the fuck off because I really didn't feel like going through the corporate phone directory to call Avon and report it since previous unsubscribe attempts had failed. He didn't respond to me, but I didn't get an email last week (they always come on Wednesdays)...but I just got another one.

So...it looks like part of my day tomorrow is going to be devoted to calling Avon's headquarters and figuring out who the hell I need to talk to to get him to cease and desist because, as I've said before, I don't particularly appreciate receiving sales emails from someone who has harassed and ridiculed a number of my friends and I have no problem telling them why I'm not just going to ignore it and delete them.

Is anyone else getting Avon sales emails from him?

Frankly, I don't know. But I do know that I never asked to be on his list in the first place. Using the unsubscribe button has only worked on a temporary basis. Contacting him when I started receiving emails again to request that he remove me has gone unanswered and also not gotten me removed from his list. I would think that, if nothing else, there should be someone in the company that would be able to help me because well, they have to conform to whatever rules and policies Avon has for their sales people, no?

I would think that yes, there have to be some rules in the company about solicitation against people's wishes, even if he's an independent contractor. And they should be informed that he's using their name to harass people.

I'm an Avon lady. When you unsubscribe, the emails should stop. I am guessing that he's going in, seeing who's unsubscribed, removing their info., and then re-entering it so the emails start again. Avon's system works fine, so I'm guessing he's a very persistent sales person.

If you never asked for the emails in the first place, I can guess how you got into the system. When you start your online Avon page, you can link it to your email contact lists, like Yahoo, and import the info. Then it automatically sends emails to all the addresses it imported.

I would continue to complain to Avon corporate because this guy is going an extra step or two to keep these emails going. Hope this helps a little.

(by the way, I have never bought from avon, let alone done anything on the web site to have gotten inadvertently subscribed in the first place)
