Morning Giggles

So the other day on my way to work, I was standing at the bus stop, reading a bok. And this woman with a really friendly, however not-quite-real smile (Yah know, the kind that doesn't quite show in their eyes) comes up to me and asks if I would like some "reading material for my morning commute"

I smile, politely say "No thank you, I've got some readining material already." and return to the book I was reading. The woman says ok, have a nice day." And glances down to look at the cover of my book. Raises her eyebrows very slightly, goes kinda pale and walks away.

yeah, it is pretty good so far. um...it's about a young woman who inherits the position of a coven of wices when her mother is murdered and then has to care for a 13 year old who is the daughter of a witch (who was also murdered) and a sorcerer...and then someone else shows up trying to get custody of the girl...and of course, there are no courroom battles, it's all crazy supernatural hoo-ha..good fun. i only found out today that the book is like, the third in a series...the first 2 beeing bitten and Stolen which focus on a couple of other characters...a woman who is a werewolf, and the witch who is the girl's mother...yeah, fun stuff if you dig contemporary supernatural fantasy stuff.

Another really good one is Waking The Moon by Elizabeth Hand, which is rather dark, intense and (i thought anyway) downright addictive. A really really really general ummary is basically it's about extreme goddess worship gone badly awry...lol
