So my check's been cashed, and money deposited in the bank, the security deposit in the house is all taken care of. I've never been so happy to have as little discressionary income as I have this week (And don't worry, I have enough for a couple packs of gum. I've even got enough to call a little "fun money" I just can't go buying all kinds of frivolous things (But frivolous things are the best!)) And I'm working today. 8 hours of pure overtime. And I decided to take a couple of the strands of stones that i've had for a while and made a pretty pink tourmaline and rhyolite bracelet and/or necklace.

I'm irked because I lost power the other night in the middle of doing some system updates (never bothered to update all the way to 10.3.9...Im such a good tech...) And now my computer doesn't boot into 10.3...and I can't find my install discs. I had to reinstall OS 9 to be able to use my computer. I'm going to borrow a copy from a coworker, but it'll probably be a few days *grumble* So that means in the meantime, I should re-update internet explorer and install instant messenger on my computer so I can talk to people.

On the up side, my cell phone has been replaced and I can now talk on it without fear of being cut off 3 seconds into the call.

Has anyone ever played the computer game Exile? It's the...uh...*counts* 3rd Myst game. If anyone has played it, PLEASE let me know how you dealt with the vertigo that it induces. I want to play it, but it makes me dizzy as hell. Of course, it doesn't help that the screen takes up my entire field of vision....

Lunch almost over *grumble*

Any particular reason you were updating to 10.3.x and not going to Tiger?
My iBook arrives on Friday, and I'm still trying to decide which OS to put on it...

Precisely one...

...very particular reason....
I don't have the money to buy it right now. I've had people offer to lend me a disc or whatever, but I'm just not willing to install without having a copy of the disc of my own.

(not that there's any more sense to installing panther when i can't find my own copy...but i have it...somewhere. just that most of my stuff's packed up and i'm not willing to unpack EVERYTHING since i'm moving in 2 weeks to get a disc unless i REALLY need to.)

Well, in your situation, I would feel no qualms about borrowing a Panther CD from someone to reinstall, since you do own a real, licensed, copy, even if you can't find the original CD. Might speed things up for your reinstall. :-)

exactly. it's perfectly legit and legal. hell, i tell people to do it on the phone if they can't find their own purchased copy.
