Serious question folks. I've been scratching my head over this one for....eh...for a long time now.

Can anyone think of any good reason why peope think my name is Michelle? Like say, someone meets me for the second or third time and they can't remember my name for sure, but they think it's Michelle....or, FAR more common, it usually happens several times a day...I'm on the hone fixing a computer and I get "Now what did you say your name was, Michelle, right?"

"Michelle" sounds NOTHING like "Renee"

And it's not like I've told them that I have a sister named Michelle either. So it's really...well, it's just weird.

At least both names have two syllables. =)

I have been called "Mike," (I look like a Mike???) "Dan," and "Rob" before...though very rarely.

Well, I've had several people in the past week wonder if I lived or was from an area around Albany. I tell them I just moved here. I guess I have one of those familiar faces, and maybe you have a Michelle face *grin* ;)

Mike is a really common name. If i can't remember a guy's name, my default guess is "Mike" followed by Chris or Dave :-P

Then again...something like 50% of the guys I know are named Mike, Dave or Chris. And I am *usually* pretty good at remembering names.

Right now, if I threw one of the roocks sitting on my desk, odds are I would hit a Chris.

I was told once that I look like Michelle Branch. But I don't.

Plus, this is more over the phone...although it does happen a good bit in person.

when i dont know a guys name, i usually guess either dave or john. and usually i'm right. :-)
