No, I think I'll go to sleep and worry about the job thing tomorrow (by the way, I got a second call today yet on that job mentioned earlier...)

Orpheus
33% Extroversion, 60% Intuition, 72% Emotiveness, 54% Perceptiveness
You are an artist, an aesthete, a sensitive, and someone who has never really let go of that childlike innocence. To you, all of life has a sense of wonder in it, and the story of Orpheus was written about someone just like you.

When the Argo passed the island of the Sirens, Orpheus played a song more beautiful than the Sirens to prevent the crew from becoming enticed. When his wife died, he ventured into the underworld to charm Hades but, in his naivete, he looked back becoming trapped there.

You can capture your unique world view and relate it to others with the skill of a master storyteller. Your sensitivity and creativity make you a treasure to the human race, but your thin-skinned nature and innocence can cause you a lot of disenchantment and pain. What's doubly unfortunate is that, if you try to lose those traits, you never will, and everyone will be able to tell that you're putting up an artificial shell to prevent yourself from being hurt.

Famous people like you: Hemingway, Shakespeare, Mr. Rogers, Melville, Nick Tosches
Stay clear of: Icarus, Hermes, Atlas

Jobs!

Just got off the phone with Kathleen, the lady that I talked to yesterday She had a few further questions from the client that they're hiring for...can I set up email addresses in MS Outlook? (Yes, yes I can.) Do I know basic networking information, or can I learn it very quickly? (Know mac stuff, can l;earn basic windows stuff very quickly.)

The job is in Lutherville, just a few blocks from the Light rail stop...and right on the 8 bus line if I don't feel like walking those few blocks (York road is a bitch) and has a starting salary of $5,000-10,000 more per year than I was asking for.

I also got a call this morning from a guy at Teksystems. They have several possible positions, but they want direct contact information for my most recent supervisor- which I don't have offhand, but I know where Chris works now, so I gave him a call and left a message asking him to get back to me with his prefered method of contact, and the pertinent info.

So apparently at least one of these jobs is maybe a 3-month contract, others are longer, the three-month, and one or two others aren't too concerned about prior experience in the technical end, as long as there's been some sort of phone supportexperience, they can train. As I see it, even if I were to land a contract that was only 3 months, if it's dealing with windos systems, as soon as I can put that experience on my resume, my options are going to increase significantly. And from what I've seen of that sort of contract length, and logical conclusion tells me that there's a semi-decent chance of such a job paying more...because who's going to take a 3-month job for $10 an hour? I could be way off...but that's what I suspect.

Yay for job options.

And....

...I have an interview! Woohoo! Saturday, oddly enough (apparently this company does their interviews on Saturdays so as not to interrupt their workweek.)

...and I also got ahold of Rick, who did all of my QC monitoring in the last 6 months or so that I worked at the last job for updated reference info.

oh and... [livejournal.com profile] rolsby, I've had three more responses to the ad. I've responded to all of them asking them to get back to me about setting up a time to meet and greet.

Keith's stuff is now boxed up...the room windows are open to let fresh air in (he had some nauseating incense in there- yes, it was incense. the sticks are now sealed up in a ziplock bag. I sprayed a heavy dose of rosemary/cedar/lavender room spray in there which should also break up the scent pretty quickly (that stuff's like magic, you know?

Seriously...take about a cup and a half of water, put it in a clean spray bottle with a teaspoon each of lavender, cedar and rosemary essential oils. Mix it up and spray everywhere. Smells amazing, and it even breaks up catbox odors.)

So I'm pretty sure I've tracked down Keith's work address. I've got this letter that I drafted to Keith that I'm planning to send to him by certified mail, return receipt requested as well as to his work email address. But I'd like to have someone look over it before I send it. Preferably someone with some sort of knowledge about how to deal with roommates that don't pay and stuff like that, in a context of potential legal action. Or with some kind of legal knowledge. I think the letter is reasonable, and have documentation of the agreements mentioned in the letter.

Drop me a comment if you can take a look-see.

Router?

Anyone have a spare router kicking around that they don't want anymore...or just one that I could borrow for a few weeks til I have the spare cash to get one of my own?

(Need to have one with a USB hookup. One of the computers doesn't have an ethernet card and is too small for most cards)

Steph needs to be able to have her computer for Pagan Pride Day Work....I'm job searching and working on the Dedicant's program and other such things that require research...being able to hook only one computer up to the DSL makes things a tad complicated.
