This is a fairly word-for-word conversation...

Me: Okay, can you take out the battery?

Her: Thats under the computer, right?

Me: Yes, there's a large screw that you can turn with a coin.

Her: I don't have a screwdriver small enough to turn the screws.

Me: That's the RAM cover. Look at the other cut-out panel.

Her: I don't see it.

Me: In the lower-right corner

Her: There's nothing there.

Me: Okay, when you look at the computer, do you see two cut-out panels.

Her: Yes. one in the middle, and the other one.

Me: Where is the other one?

Her: In the corner.

Me: Uh huh, okay do you see the big screw?

Her: No.

Me: You don't see a screw? Okay this is a Powerbook you said?

Her: Yes.

Me: G3 or G4?

Her: G4

Me: What size?

Her: 15 inch

Me: 15 inch powerbook g4 and you don't see a screw here?

Her: No.

Me: Okay, do you see a latch?

Her: Huh?

Me: A latch, like a little switch?

Her: No, there's just this round thing.

Me: Round thing, like a screw?

Her: Yeah, but a screw driver wouldn't fit.

Me: It wouldn't-

Her: It's too big.

Me: Try a coin. It should turn.

Her: Oh. It works.

Me: Okay, do you see the serial number inside the compartment?

Her: Yeah, it's....(starts reciting battery serial number)

Me: No, that's on the battery. Check inside the compartment.

Her: Uh...is it the FCC ID?

Me: No. Serial number will start with QT, W8 or V7.

Her: Well, I've got...(Starts reciting serial number for a 12-inch iBook)
