Date: 2007-08-25 04:39 am (UTC)problem is, in my experience insurance only covers contacts or glasses, not both...and most insurances will only cover soft lenses, and only for a certain period of time- most i've seen are three months supply. I need to either wear gas permeable lenses, or some really really expensive variety of toric lenses. my vision is so bad, I need glasses when not wearing contacts to be able to function (and you just can't wear gas perms for the extended time that you can soft lenses)
It would be less expensive for me to have insurance cover glasses and buy the contacts, but still quite expensive to buy the lenses. (Ya know those 2 pair of glasses for $99 deals? No one will let me have them. And no, I don't have bifocals or trifocals.)
I do plan to, in the near future, find out if I';m a candidate for lasik surgery and if I am, see about saving up to get it done...they just introduced a flexible spending thing at work where if you set it up, the full amount that you plan for is available immediately, they just take it out of your pre-tax paycheck throughout the year...I'm thinking about looking into how I might be able to do somehting with that, and our insurance company offers discounts on things like lasik, though they don't cover it outright...and I know that one of the doctors that is affiliated with that plan is the same one that was recommended to me by someone from the grove, who had it done with them and they did such a good job that her regular eye doctor couldn't tell...so if they do that good a job, that's where I want to go. (apparently it usually leaves slight scarring on the cornea, she had none.)

Date: 2007-08-25 04:40 am (UTC)...somewhere around, i have a bottle and a half off pink dye left. I'm planning to use them up, but after that I might keep with the brown hair. I actually kinda like it.
