1. What draws you to the path of Initiation within ADF?
2. What does being an Initiate mean to you?
3. What services do you hope to provide to your community with this training?

What draws you

Heh. Your favorite phrase!

521 words to my answer to that question, and I did not use the phrase.

So what draws me to being a Quaker?

Maybe it's because I want a place to help me think rather than just be told what to think. It might be that I want a supportive faith community that isn't cohesive in large part to the group adhering to an extensive list of criteria, most of which doesn't even agree with source religious material and goes out of its way to exclude rather than include.

I want a place that confirms we can all be right. I want a place that draws on simplicity and meditation rather than elaborate ritual. I believe in the words "there is no way to peace; peace is the way."

While many can provide this, I also highly value the acceptance of others (people are people, no exceptions, and thus deserving of basic human rights and acceptance amongst us).

If I find another path, I also know I can go to it without repercussions, or even follow it amongst them.

I would say this does more than just draw me to the Friends Meeting.

Good questions. I can't answer #1 because I am not part of the ADF, but the other two are interesting. :) I am guessing you already answered something similar for the other aspect of training?
