That reminds me of something I wanted to ask you about. I notice in many of your entries online that you connect with your Gods in a very ... not sure the word, direct way. At least more directly than I do.
Is this common in Greek Reconstructionism? The other recons I know (of the Celtic bent) are even more "in the head" than I am.
Hmmm...good question? I know of several folks who tend to have very intense connections with their gods, and there are others who are probably more, as you put it "in their head"- though I'm not entirely sure that I understand what you mean by this?
How it compares to followers of other pantheons...no idea.

Like for instance you will say something like "I heard a voice..." or speak about a very direct answer to questions you have.
For me there is a very distinct presense but at the same time often I do not feel a direct answer or voice, I usually (though not always) have to do a great deal of thought about an experience to understand what it is I am senseing.
Does that make any more sense?
I guess I am wondering if it has always been that way for you? When you first discovered your path was it like "bam" direct experience or has it increased over time?

Yah, I thought that was what you meant....I experience this also.

Apollo is the only deity of whom I've experienced the most intense, encompassing, pervasive presence. There are other deities of whom I've gotten a very distinct "presense" of, but it's more like standing at a conversational distance from an acquaintance in the same room. I've had experience somewhere between those two of Dionysus- as if he was trying to get to the point of the very pervasive, encompassing presence, but there was some buffer keeping him from getting quite that close.
Also, the "in my head" thing is sort of in two ways- the more common is that something comes into my head and the feeling is like it's a memory- as if I were recalling something I was told in conversation or read in a book, and the voice inside my head that "speaks" these words is generally the sound of my own voice in my head.
The other, I just think of as "plain voice" or "clear voice", and mostly get it from Apollo, though occasionally also from others- this voice is not mine, but the voice of whoever it's coming from, as it sounds in my mind.
These have all definitely been a matter of increase over time, not an immediate *smack*
problem is that i'm at work, I can't make those voice calls. Er, well, i can- they gave me the software and a little communicator unit but it's one of the thigns they get cranky about.
I didn't expect to have the phone call tonight, so I didn't think to bring the charger with me- I've done that before though.
