I had to take a break from knitting this weekend...I've been knitting a piece that's really a bit large for 14" straight needles, but I really don't want to do it on circular needles...I'm pretty awkward on them yet- I find the much shorter length of the needle bits of the circular needles to be odd, if they were a bit longer, I'd be okay. (Hmm...now that I think about it, wonder if that might not be a bit less weird on the #11 needles like I'm using than it always feels on larger ones like #17...)

Anyway, due to how much I had to push- and how hard- on the piece to keep it on the needles and the odd angles at which I was holding my wrists at times, I think I strained things a bit on my right wrist, so I took a break from knitting and have rediscovered cardboard weaving- weaving on a loom cut from cardboard, which I did way back in 5th grade art class. My wrist feels completely better after two days of no knitting, and I've got this cool little bag well in the works.

On a related note...does anyone know of a place in Baltimore where one might acquire a drop spindle or would I be better off ordering one off Teh Intarwebz?

I remember a shop out in Catonsville that might have them. Let me prowl the Yellow Pages and internet and I'll post it here.
