Not particularly exciting, but it was quite good. I just made lamb chops in olive oil, asparagus with butter and garlic, brown rice with garlic, scallions and crumbled feta, and heated up the last little bit of couscous left over from dinner yesterday.

I like cooking. Being unemployed isn't the best situation, but it means I have plenty of time to cook good food (I made raspberry pancakes for breakfast this morning!) and what I get in unemployment is more than enough to keep us able to buy good food, so we're not stuck on ramen and mac and cheese (okay, so we eat mac and cheese once in a while...but it's the good kind.)

Arg...hey, apologies for not calling you yet but our sleep schedule has been all wonky- going to sleep in the middle of the afternoon, waking up at 4am, that sort of thing.

But hey, since you're here...do you have a free evening this week? Maybe we could get together for dinner or something.

Mmm, raspberry pancakes sound delightful...too bad I just finished off my raspberries this morning. :)

Hey :) I didn't know you were unemployed - I went back just now to your previous entries and didn't see where you lost your job...or did you quit? Just being nosey but it seems a lot of my friends are unemployed too - including me. I may come over for dinner though if you make dinners like that ;-)

That all sounds yummy. You know, I like your food related entries. They sing to my tastebuds.

Yeah, it was back in august. One of those "absolutely never saw it coming things"- I was in a position of fairly iron-clad job security, and then I had to change departments and "Oh, hi, you know how you're the newest person in the department? Yeeeeeah, we sorta have to lay you off, screw the last five and a half years you worked here."

They sing, eh? Wow. I knew my cooking was pretty good, but the mere text-based idea of them is musical? That's pretty impressive.

I have this chip dip recipe that I'd post, but I don't have a clue how much of anyhting I use (except for the sour cream base) so I can't even give amounts to try to replicate it.

It's good to know I'm not the only one with those kinds of sleep problems, save mine is usually go to sleep at noon, wake up at sunset.

This week might be kind of hairy. I have to cram some studying in with car repair and doc appointments. Next week would be gold, though. Would that be good?
