Sick Of Hearing About This...
Oct. 28th, 2004 12:34 pmHalloween falls on a Sunday this year. Woo Hoo.
There's a big stink in a lot of communities to celebrate on Saturday instead because many Christians consider Sunday to be "The Lord's Day" and say that Halloween glorifies the devil.
Ok...while i personally don't agree with the sentiments, it makes sense if they're just flat out against celebrating Halloween..they've decided that it goes against their religious beliefs.
What I can't quite wrap my brain around is how participating in this supposed evil, devil-glorifying activity becomes more acceptable on Saturday?
If anyone can make this make sense to be or would like to give it a try...by all means, the floor is yours.
i'll be celebrating Halloween by movng to a new apartment, and then playing with fire.

Gah!
Ridiculous.
I dislike christian types sometimes...
Date: 2004-10-28 09:33 pm (UTC)Then if you want me to get into my religion about it, it's New Year's to me! And in my religion, we don't believe in the devil!
So, it's a nice little holiday time for me to celebrate the past year's accomplishments and all the icky stuff, celebrate the passing of friends and relatives (I know celebrate sounds weird, but...), and to have fun watching the little kids go get candy and stuff.
Plus I get to go to a party in NJ this year... as a mental patient (how ironic for me).
:)
