Personally, I don't give a damn what the Canada free press thinks about our government OR our religions, since they've demonstrated no respect for any of them anyway.
...especially in this article: I was particularly steamed at the gist of the author saying, "I'll be completely sarcastic towards pagans, because at least I can fall back on Christianity as a 'reasonable' religion and use that basis to slam anything else." I'd love to know what Ms. Mcleod thinks of those pesky pork-hating Jews!
Speaking as a Libertarian, I believe the balance between government and religion is always out of control because of the MEDIA'S mudslinging disguised as a sort of "check and balance" for the system. So much for separation of church and state in ANY form.
Speaking as a Christian, I find it despicable that she uses Christianity as a comparison and foundation for slamming any religion at all. How can any expect to end up having a good name after all of that?

There's far too much "journalism" out there which is, infact exrtemely biased editorializing. Every side is guilty of it. While being entirely objective is extremely difficult (Actually, I honestly don't believe very much in the concept of 100% objectivity) it realy is the responsibility of journalists to report the facts...ah...but they forget that.
And..I have no problem with a certain degree of editorializing...in the right place. With a nice, neat hangtag that says "Editorial" or "Commentary" It's usually found in the section of the newspaper labeled as such. (I realize, you probably know that.) A lot of intelligent people out there can distinguish between a reasonably objective news story....far too many can't.
Ok...before this turns into a massive essay. That was just what my brain spewed forth in response.
