I'm sick again. This time I think I do have the flu. I was fine when I woke up this morning, but on the way to work I started feeling sick in my stomach and couldn't stay awake. I only bothered going all the way to work because I was supposed to start with 3 hours of training and I figured I could do that and see if the sick feeling passed.

Get to work and find out that training was cancelled because six squillion peole were calling (Yesterday was like that too) and no, there was no way they'd let me do traininf for a bit anyway to see if I felt better. Doug was in a meeting so Brian told me that my choices were log in and take calls, or go home (and have to go to the doctor to have an excused absence)

well...i'm going to the doctor tomorrow.

I came home and slept til about 630

Let me tell you, there's nothing like being sick, on a bus with a maniac driver bumping and bouncing all over the road, having a REALLY bad case of hiccups...AND 2 people on either side of you snapping their gum. There's no empty seats on the bus to move to, and both o them give you really nasty looks when you ask them oh so nicely "excuse me, would you mind not snapping your gum? I have a headache."

Which leads me to a rant...but I don't feel like typing a rant right now...People, for the sake of the heads and sanity of the rest of us STOP SNAPPING YOUR FRICKEN GUM. It's annoying and nerve grating.

Honestly, I used to snap gum. Though, I am totally serius when I say I only did it when I was out of the earshot of others. I once snapped my gum in English Class in 10th grade. One snap. I just wasn't thinking. But I was fairly thoroughly embarassed. i also havent chewed gum since I graduated high school, but that's beside the point.

My other point of annoyance is that since I paid my cell phone bill yesterday, everyother time I'd try to make a call I'd get switched into the company system saying that I had to pay my bill. So today I talked to someone, said "here's my authorizatoin frm the bill beign pad, now fix it" (Yes, I was much nicer than that. But I didn't feel that way. I do tech support, so I try to be nice to othrs who do such things.)

What really irked me was that after the guy (whose acent I could barely understand) Told me that i needed to end the call and turn my phone off fo 5 minutes so they could fix it, he proceeded to tell me another 6 times. In this voice that one would use while speaking to an exceptionally stupid 5 year old. "Now when you hang up, turn the phone off. We need you to turn it *All...The...Way...Off..." So i said after the first time, "Ok got it. Turn the phone off and leave it off for 5 minutes."

His response- "No, no miss. turn it All...The...Way...Off...and don't turn it back on for 5 minutes." I rtied to tell him that i understood the first time, but after he did this a few times, I said "OK, I understand what I need to do. Thank you. I'm hanging up and turning my phone off now. I'll wait 5 minutes before I turn it back on." *click*

My phone...well, it's either on or it's off, there is no in-between. Arg...why?

I think it's time for more sleep.
