I had to get my glasses fixed today...the earpiece got broken. Afterwards, I went to Barnes and Noble...while wandering around I see someone who looks vaguely faimiliar. Not a coworker...not a burner...no one from my neighborhood. Took a minute or so to realize it was someone I went out on exactly one date with about a year ago. It didn't take very long to realize that we were pretty bored with each other, and after the fact neither of us made any attempts to contact the other. He also appeared to recognize me and I becmae highly amused as he seemed to be making attepts to hide, putting a magazine up to his face and stuff. Our paths repeatedly crossed as he turned up when I was looking at physics books, and then again under photography, later I turned a corner in the travel section and there he was, looked up as I walked past, very quickly jammed the book he was looking at back on a shelf and took off like a frightened gazelle.

Bizarre.

Okay, WTF was that about?

It was funny! Guys do the silliest things.

I can't say I've ever been in that exact situation- not to mention done anything that extreme- but I can say that I've done that when I see people I just don't want to converse with or pretend I recognize; people who annoy me, people I don't especially like, etc. Except I won't hide so much as just not look in their direction.

I used to be like that even if I see someone who's "too far away" to talk to, but if I smile and awkwardly wave it's better than nothing. =\

but after passin by each other for the 4th or 5th time and not saying anything, would you have continued to be so...weird? or just assumed that the person at that point, was PROBABLY not going to bother you?
