Funny How Things Work Out...
Feb. 3rd, 2003 06:19 pmHmmm....ok, so here's how things twisted themselves around, changed contorted and got spit out again....
...Mom and Mike had huge fight Friday night. Another one. Wakes me up several times over the course of...hmm, 6 hours?
Mom tells me Saturday that Mike is going to move out, meaning that I'm going to need to be out of the house soon, presumably within a few weeks.
Sunday I start to try to call people and see who needs roommate or something on short notice. First call I make is to
seaya who tells me I should come down to Baltimore and stay with her. Um, ok!
Then Mom tells me I don't need to be out of house so fast and Mike might not move out after all. Ok...well, I'm still moving out. so, Providence is a no for now, Baltimore is a yes.
In other, related news....I got the book Urban Primitive by Raven Kaldera and Tannin Schwartzstein....good, funny so far with comical illustrations....and THEN! I found a book that's looking to be probably way better...City Magick by Christopher Penczak...I love it already...what I've read is beautifully written, makes TOTAL sense to me, and I see a lot of things that I already do and think. AND he starts out the book talking about a song that I LOVE- "Mysteries of the Unexplained" by Tonya Donelly. And then I picked up New witch magazine, which had an article on urban paganism by the same author!
Oh yeah...and I found a magazine (Bust, which I've never erad, but turns out to be a feminist magazine....a fun one! That recognizes that shoe shopping is a natural urge that must be satisfied!) with an article on starting your own record label....ok, maybe 3 people will understand the significance of this...it's a long story, one for another post.
And totally unrelated...I got some burgundy velvet jeans for $14! Machine washable! 98% cotton! Stretchy, comfy! Happy! Tempted to go back and buy a few moere pairs! In black too!
And then there's the sadness of the Columbia thing....my sister had it on TV, thought they were talking about the Challenger at first....cause the anniversary just passsed..and then I heard the part about it being on reentry and well....the Challenger wasn't on reentry. Wow...so sad. Howeer, I have to agree with what
skreidle had to say about the Columbia vs a (hypothetical) trainwreck in Zimbabwe killing 30+ people and injuring manay others and how most people wouldn't pause more than a second to look at the story.
OK...time to go find some dinner.
