Dec. 3rd, 2003 03:57 pmI was almost hit by a car today. This is only different from the several time that I almost get hit by cars every week because there was a woman only a few feet behind me who did get hit. She was barely breathing when the ambulance got there, and they had a hard time figuring that out without moving her, she was all crumpled up in the road. We were both running for the bus- it was early today, the car that hit her had been on the other side of the intersection, with a turn signal on. the bus stop was straight ahead. The car didn't turn, it went straight.
I came to work, we had a test, were supposed to log into Rob's computer from ours and pull a file off. My brain went blank and kept saying to me "I can't do this" and I got up and left the room. I spent about half an hour in the break room, trying to calm myself down...I had started hyperventilating- on top of that, breathing through both my mouth and nose...once i start doing that, it becomes difficult to return to breathing normally. So I was really dizzy for a while, and not really able to talk, and this guy kept coming in and asking if I wanted to talk about it. I know he was trying to be nice and all...but I must have told him 4 times that I wasn't really able to talk at the moment. There are times when I am literally unable to talk- I'll move my mouth, but words don't come out.
By the way, the test was easy, I only got one wrong on a dumb mistake.
Yesterday was good, hung out at work til Dominic got off at 7 then went down to Brewer's with him and Erica, hung out there til other people showed up, Jen, Kari, Eric, Kathleen, Tanner, Suz, Fred, Tim, Rob, and several people I'd never met before. It was a good night. I had one glass of wine and oddly enough, I think i was a little buzzed.
Kathleen's party on Saturday was excellent, nothing like spending a night with 75 of your closest friends.
I don't know, I don't feel like writing anymore for the moment.
