You guys wouldn't believe what I'm listening to right now...Dammit, I'm listening to Alabama. (Oddly enough, I do occasionally like some country music.) One of their songs ALWAYS makes me cry..instantly, no matter what...that's Angels Among Us, which was Alex's favorite song....I wasn't listening to that. I usually just can't. Dammit, 8 and a half years and it's still too much...it still feels like last week. My best friend died in 1997...it's not something that you just get over...but am I holding on to too much?

The other song is 18 Wheeler...which sometimes makes me cry. It always makes me think of my father. When the song came out, my parents were still together, and my father has aways been a truck driver. He used to play it all the time when he was home. Why don't I just stop listening to it? I don't know, I just like it.

Watch where you point that camera

there is no registration required to read the article, the link should take you straight to it,

The Patriot Act strikes again.

Basically, the article is saying that if you take picures of public buildings, in subways, on trains, planes and er...busses, you could be engaging in "suspicious" activity. So if you're a photographer, if you go on vacation, if you decide that some random building looks like it would look good hanging on your living room wall, you could be a percieved as a possible terrorist and asked to cease and desist by a security or police officer.

As a photographer whose preferred subject material is architecture and urban landscape, I think it's time I end my hiatus and start going out and taking more pictures again.

Pass it on people!

edit...Actually, this really isn't new. I myself have been subject to such cease and desist requests...though this was actually back in April 2000, almost a year and a half before 9/11. I was told in both South and Back Bay Train Stations in Boston that I needed to stop taking pictures because it could be construed as preparation for terroristic or other criminal activity. In each case, I had pretty much gotten the shots that I wanted by the time I was told to stop, but still...

Treason?

To deterimne the maximum number of any given item that one can shake a stick at...

the maximum number of any given item that one can shake a stick at is determined by the length of the stick plus the length of the shaker's arm minus overlap divided by arc length of the collective items being shaken at=maximum items that you can shake a stick at at any given time
