So I can't recieve messages in yahoo messenger. Tried different accouts, restarted the program and the computer, not behind firewalls or proxies or anyhting like that. Dropped Yahoo a line, got a canned "we'll get back to you within 24 hours" response...yeah right.

and we finally fiured out- a few weeks ago actually- why the doorbell keeps randomly ringing...not because the batteries in the reciever are dying, but because it's on the same frequency as the neighbor 2 doors down. Every time our bell rings and there's no one there, there's someone rining the bell two doors down *grumble*

Preparing to foray into the world of internet sharing on Windows machines....this oughta be fun.

edit: Annnnnnd we have contact! both units running on the net without a router. Plus I've rearranged the floor, AND I'm attempting to troubleshoot a mac via instant messenger.
