If you haven't caught this yet, according to this professor, Concerning Hellenic pagans, it's just "pagan-lite" without blood sacrifices.

(I don't claim to be attempting to completely recreate the Ancient Hellenic religion. However, I don't think that the fact that I'm not performing animal sacrifice means that my belief in the gods is somehow diluted.

For the record, I am not opposed to animal sacrifice. I also do not believe that anyone who thinks it's okay to eat meat should be opposed to animal sacrifice. No, I'm not talking about the senseless torture and killings of people's cats and various other animals that crop up especially at Halloween time. )

I feel better than yesterday evening. Not super-fantastic, but more...neutral. I'll write more later, I don't want to get into some things while writing from work.


On a completely unrelated note, after only ever seeing him as the weird little guy in Ally McBeal, and being subjected to that gawdawful "movie" Baby Geniuses, I must say I'm thoroughly impressed with Peter McNichol's ability to play such a complete and utter asshole as he's doing on 24. I don't think a tv show character has ever actually inspired me to loathe them before. (It was kinda amusing when the season premier cmae on and Nicole and I were watching it, the name flashed across the screen and we both suddenly said in shocked unison "Peter McNichol??? But it works. Impressively so.)
