I'm at work. I'm bored. I'm listening to ES Posthumus. I feel like bellydancing. Cause the music is awesome like that.

But I'm not gonna do that in the office with two coworkers and my supervisor here.

I've had three calls tonight, they all came in rapid-fire just before 9. I've been surfing teh intarwebz since.

Feeling bored? email me. I'm here til 8am.

I *could* read one of the books I brought...but that would make sense. Can't have that now.

I stumbled upon this community

and was perusing it out of morbid curiosity when I ran across this, er, gem....

Do you feel that one gender is, by nature, superior to the other? Explain your answer.
Women are superior by virtue of biology. We are the first form, males are mutated and stunted women. Their reproductive organs have 'fallen' out of their bodies to dangle and the hemispheres of their brains do not have sufficient connections to allow for balanced, reasoned and emotional thought.

I'm embarrassed to be a woman when I read things like this.

Yeah, because misandry is sooooo much better than misogyny. (Heh...Firefox's spellchecker doesn't recognize "misandry" as a word...)

I had a "Duh, why did I never think of that before??????" moment a bit ago.

All this time I've been feeling that the gods of my ancestors have rejected me. I'm of Sicillian, English, Polish and Lithuanian descent and have nnver felt any interest whatsoever to the gods of the Romans, the Etruscans, the Slavs or the Angles, Saxons or Celts, and never felt that they had any interest in me either. All this time I thought I was "looking elsewhere" when I looked to the Hellenic gods. The only part of my ancestry that I've really had a strong interest for has been the Sicilian side of my mother's family. And I chalked it up to bring intrigued by the big mystery surrounding one of my maternal great-great-great grandmothers, the one that first came to the US (yeah, that's still part of it...)

I knew before, but it never really clicked in my mind...Sicily was once a Greek stronghold.

There was a temple of Apollo at Sarausa, an altar to Apollo Archegetes outside of Naxos,

Also worshiped as Apollo Libystinus all over the island, and Apollo Temenites at Sarausa...

I haven't been rejected by the gods of the lands of all of my ancestors...I just never looked far back enough to realize that some of them were the same as the ones I worship now....

I just shipped my meditation essay off to Caryn.

I'm going to play some well-deserved minesweeper now...

Almost...there....

I am surprisingly awake with just under an hour to go. The night wasn't quite as bad as I anticipated. My eyelids are starting to get that heavy-scratchy feeling, but only just barely.

I suspect though that once I get home, I'll be dead to the world quickly.
