I got this in an email last night from the Interfaith Fairness Coalition...It doesn't mention in the paragraph here, but apparently they pay even more if you have a car and are willing to transport people to different areas.

If interested, please call Justin in College Park at (301) 760-4501, or Chris in Baltimore at (410) 800-4702.

I've been thinking about getting a part time job in recent weeks and have been reluctant because if I go to a store or something, they're going to want me every hour of every weekend, this looks like it could have potential for a lot more flexibility, and it's something that I believe is important. (plus they're paying better than retail stores pay their part-time people!) So...I'm going to give them a buzz and see about joining in on the fun.

It amazes me how much farther yarn will go when knitting ten stitches to a row on #17 needles than it will knitting 10/row on #10 needles.

I have this single skein of the silk yarn that's of a much thinner spin than the rest, and because of its difference in thickness, wouldn't mix very well in with the rest, unless I used it for edging or something, but its coloring is soooooooo pretty, it would kill it to mix it up with other stuff. I've got about 2 feet knitted and barely made a dent in the ball so far, so it's going to be a fiarly long scarf. I'd have loved to have a tighter knit, I actually did knit all the way to the end on #10's...and I was only doing 8 stitches to a row, and it wasn't long enough...so I unraveled it, thought about chain-stitch crocheting it, and decided to go with the bigger knitting needles instead. It's working out well, I could probably make it a bit wider but I don't feel like undoing the progress. When all is said and done, I might drop a few stitches for added width but I will decide that when I finish.

I wish the camera that I have here captured color decently so I could post a picture...but it's really pretty horrific, even in very bright light.

Gaaaaah!

So there's this fly that's been flying around my desk all night. There was one last night and the night before too, I suspect the same one each time. I haven't been able to kill it. It's driving me berserk, especially since it keeps landing on me.

So I HAD wanted a scarf knitted with lengthwise stripes for my super-warm winter scarf this year.

Then I decided that it would be the epitome of awesome to have one made of crocheted granny squares. I am so fickle.

Though, I guess I'm kinda committed to it now, because I've started crocheting the squares and cutting the yarn appropriately. So...I'm stuck.

It will rock.
