So I wasn't for a while, but I've come back to having dreams where I'm walking around with grapevines wrapped around my wrists, not holding me to anything, just there like leafy, viney bracelets, sometimes wrapped tight enough to cut into my skin.

So I was looking over the community lists of some of my friends, and then took a look at my own, and did a couple of searches for lj communities, and I came to a realization...

There are quite a few deity-specific communities, some more active than others. I'm a member of...1? 2? (Both very slow)And I've been a member of at least two others in the past.

There are no Apollo-specific communities.

Well, there weren't. There is now.

Tonight, I created [livejournal.com profile] cultofapollo.

For anyone with any interest in Apollo, go join.

I've been doing this in between work stuff, so there's no big spectacular community info paragraph or anything like that up yet. Working on it though.

I saw the most beautiful thing on the way to work tonight...

Up on North Ave where my street crosses it, there are several churches. I get the bus right in front of one of them.

Beside its entrance, this church has a locked glass door. It doesn't lead into the church, it's basically a little display alcove for a large stone bible with a verse carved into it (can't remember what verse it is).

So tonight, I was waiting there for the bus, and there was an older man across the street. He was walking with a cane and a rather visible bit of difficulty. Seemed to be heading in a definite westward direction down North ave, but he stopped and looked over at the church for a minute, and then started to cross the street (there's no traffic light at the intersection, but there are median strips, so while this was obviously not very easy for him, he was able to pause on the strip for a minute and not have to try and rush across four lanes)

He made it across the street, and came over to the church, stopping at the glass door, looked down at the stone bible for a minute, and then leaned his cane against the building, and then with no indication of previous mobile difficulties, knelt down on the sidewalk for about a minute, and then stood up just as smoothly. Took his cane and turned back across the street and continued westward. For the first few steps, his walking looked much less labored, but returned before he made it back across the street.

It was one of those moments of "wow". For a minute there, something happened.

All at once, I felt like I was intruding to have been standing there, just idly waiting around for a bus, but also very lucky to have been there at the same time- normally, I wouldn't have. I left the house later than usual, and then went to Ghettomart, taking longer than I would have because Gavin had gone too, having opened the door to walk in the house just as I was about to open it to leave. Yay for timing.

I'm not getting comments sent to me.

Oh, and someone remind me not to get caught up at work talking to people on AIM long enough to miss the first train outta there, even if it is a really interesting conversation...and then come home and sit on the porch talking to the roommate for half an hour...even if it really is an interesting conversation, even if it is a gorgeous morning out...and then go inside and start to exchange tauts with said roommate for the next five minutes or more...even if it really is amusing.

At least, not on Thursdays?

anyone remember that old 80's country song José Cuervo?

(José cuervo, you are a friend of mine. I like to drink you with a little salt and lime did I kiss all the cowboys? did I shoot out the lights? did I dance on the bar? did I start any fights?)

It's been stuck in my head since I woke up. which really isn't that long a period of time.

It's an amusing song.

Thought I'd share

I've got a few imps up for grabs. If you want any, leave a comment here. If you're in Baltimore, you can pick them up from me if you want. Otherwise, I'll send them to anyone in the US, no worries about postage but know that it will be at my convenience and I don't get near a post office too often, usually on Fridays.

Up for grabs:

Fae
Vinland
Hollywood Babylon
Midnight Kiss

(These were all sent to me as frimps. I think they might have been tested once each)

I also have Thalia and Shattered, which I've tried two or three times each, and have decided that they don't work for me. Up for grabs also.

Leave a comment here if you're interested, and which ones. If you want more information on the scents, you can look them up at http://www.blackphoenixalchemylab.com

I'll basically go first come, first served on the order comments appear in my journal.
