"There's three belief systems in this world. There's Jewish, there's Christian and there's Muslimism."

Muslimism. I'm reasonably sure that I did not misunderstand the person.
Oh, and 3 belief systems?

SO wanting to give a little education...But it's someone I don't know. I don't know how they'd react. This is my place of work. And I really don't feel like dealing with it right now.

Besides...he said "Muslimism" What does that tell you?

*facepalms*

What's worse, I think, is when my mom asks me (on a regular basis I might add) to "ask Jesus to keep [my family] safe, even if [I] don't believe in Him right now."

I consistently tell her that I'm not going to participate in her "imaginary friend game" when she does this crap, bu gah. It most recently reared its head when I told her about my plans for a dig in Israel this summer. The frustration of having to deal with an utter lack of acceptance is sometimes overwhelming.

considering that
they can't even get the dudes name right
(historical documents show a rabbi named joshua was
put to death in 30 ad, for leading an uprising)

the birthday
(which would have been may, not dec 25th, which is the birthday of another diety, who was cruicified, and well, had
other similarities)

and the teachings
(which seems of late to be leaning on that account of caligulia known as revelations)

it's hard to take them seriously,.
i mean, when does superstition become faith?

I've come to the position that I mostly don't care precisely what hoops people have to jump through to make themselves comfortable with their faith of choice, as long as they don't try to ram it down my throat. And then I tell 'em to stuff it.

Although just for clarity's sake, "rabbi" is a specifically post-destruction term.

I feel your pain as I arm myself with such witty comebacks as "No, I gave up on Satanism because I couldn't get the candles to burn with black flames." for visiting my family (Got Baptist relatives...woohoo!)
