Here's one to wrap your brains around...came across it on another web forum.

If the Bible were to be made into a movie/gigantic not-so-miniseries/whatever...direct book to movie translation, line by line...


What would it be rated?
Would the sex and violence be decried as smut and gore? Or would it be okay cause it's the Bible in picture form?

Well, aside from the length. Let's assume you take the major points of the Christian Bible, from Creation:

1. Creation
2. Cain and Abel
3. The Flood
4. Abraham
5. The Journey to Egypt (Joseph)
6. The Exodus (Moses)
7. The Judges
8. The Kings
9. The Separation of Israel and Judah and Prophets
10. The connuqest and Exile and Prophets
11. The return and the fall of babylon
12. The Maccabees
13. John the Baptist
14. Jesus and the further Acts of the Apostles
15. The vision of revelation

If we made a movie - you would probably get an R for violence - a la the passion of the Christ. It's not like you can take the Psalms or Proverbs and read them in a movie. If you want to go with concubines and sex and what not - well, you would most likely score the "A" - rarely used by the MPAA, for Adult content not limited to basic porn.
