I just got a call from Jolene, the lady at the animal rescue...Ferrari has a cold. Then she told me that she was going to ask me to go to the city animal control to adopt a cat instead of adopting Ferrari. This is after she talked to Mea and Mea said that everything was cool with their conversation. I said I didn't understand, she hadn't given any nidication to me or Mea that there was a problem. Then she mentioned the issue with the other cats in the house, and them chasing each other. I'd been up front about the other cats, and very clear that they were playing when they chased each other. Jolene had told me that Ferrari chasing the other cats was not in agression and while I was only there for about an hour last week, I saw no indication that she would have issues with living with other cats....there were about 20 cats there, we only have two others.

Honestly, I was really upset. I was excited but didn't know how attatched I'd gotten to the idea of this particular cat. She kept asking me if I had a problem with the idea of saving a life at animal control. And telling me that Ferrari deserves to be the only cat...I don't want to adopt a cat and bring her into a stressful environment, but at the same time, if she can get along with 20 other cats, why not two? And the ad on petfinder said she loves kittens...one of our cats is a kitten.

So anyway, I was really upset- almost crying. What Jolene said at the end was that she would let me take Ferrari after all if I felt so strongly, she would keep her til she's over the cold, she has her on antibiotics. I'm supposed to call her Monday and see how she is.

I don't know. I really want Ferrari...and I really think that it would be okay. *I* don't have any other cats, she would be my only cat. But...I don't know. I think everyhting would be okay, but is it just me being all attached to this cat already? Does anyone else have any thoughts on this?

I think you're attached to this cat because this cat is meant to be in your life. If you are secure enough to believe that Ferrari would be fine, then Ferrari will be fine...

*hugs*

I think that woman is playing games.

You should seriously go after getting that cat.

Cats *always* have an adjustment period to a new environment.

I think you should adopt Ferrari. You're already attached to her, have been looking forward to bringing her home, and have planned everything out. Be strong and tell her that YES, you WILL be adopting Ferrari, KTHX.

What a bitchy thing to do! That is so unbelievable.

She told you the kitty was yours. She let you get attached to Ferrari. And now she's telling you no? What kind of crazy games is this lady playing?

Push and shove. You not only want this cat, she wants you, or she wouldn't have been all over you. Don't let that lady get in the way.
