Apr. 28th, 2006 10:11 pmI am most delighted to realize that I have completed one of the requirements for the Dedicant's Program without having tried...remember the 3 novel-length essays that I wrote a few months back about how I arrived at where I am today spiritually?
If that doesn't satisfy "a brief account of the efforts of the Dedicant t develop and explore a personal (or Grove-related) spiritual practice, drawn from a specific culture or combination of cultures", I don't know what does.
Now...that behemoth is hardly brief...but I don't think they're going to dock me for going into more detail than asked...
chronarchy, please correct me of I am mistaken
I think I need to add some more of the last few moths, and some more detail of what I've done within the Grove. I wasn't writing that with ADF in mind, I was writing for the sake of sharing my experience over a period of time so I didn't go into a lot about ADF and the Grove. It wil not be difficult to modify.
Annnnnnd speaking of stuff within ADF...I posted some of my ideas to ADF's Hellenic list...culminated with "Hey guys...what say we start a Hellenic study program???"
This has met with favorable response. One of the Guild Cheifs is on the list. He's got experience with writing a study program. There are at least one or two who have degrees in clasical studies and a number of others who have done some amount of academic work in classical fields
I've calmed down a notch from my craziness yesterday and have refined my thoughts just a bit:
I would like to study traditional Hellenic practice so I can understand what was originally done...and then take the ADF idea of adapting it to contemporary life.
I personally intend to do the Hellenion study program- it's actually fairly short, but it looks like the work is complimentary to the DP, and it's something presently established for me to do for myself.
I am interested in gathering others together in the area who are interested in studying Hellenic practices, traditions etc.
Okay...off to pretty up my writing on my spiritual development...

Date: 2006-05-01 01:52 am (UTC)If you do look into Druidry and go for an organization, I'd recommend ADF...though I'm biased. and ADF is not recon, it's Contemporary/adaptive and incorporates any/all indo-european cultures instead of being strictly Celtic.
