Still Alive...
Jun. 13th, 2006 05:20 pmI have a modem, no internet at home yet. Modem was delivered today. I was told that DSL would be running within 8 days, but now they're telling me the 20th (If I feel like it, I'll post about the fiasco on the phone yesterday with Verizon some other time. Already seriously considering cancelling and getting someone else's service.)
Looking for a new roommate, just posted another ad online, and have been putting up roommate wanted flyers today, plus looking for ads for people wanting a place and answering those.
Grove on Sunday included Adventures in Druid-herding (which is considerably more difficult than cat-herding), working on plans for Midsummer. How does Caryn do it? (Though, I think I did a pretty good job...) It's going to be interesting/fun/ummmmm.....?
I think I'm mildly nervous. I'm going to write out a proper copy so that I can go over it with Caryn this weekend. I decided that for seasonal lore, we're going to read some of the (shorter) Homeric Hymns to the deities that we will be honoring.
Yesterday, Steph and I went wandering a bit aorund the city...I FINALLY got to go into the Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church, which is right beside the monument on Charles street...if you know which one I mean, you know that it is one of the most beautiful buildings on the city. We had a short tour of the bulding, including some of the adjoining house that holds their offices and the parsonage. There is a library on the second floor of the house that has a painting on the ceiling depicting Aurora, the Roman goddess of the dawn. After we left the room, I was rather dizzy- and not just from staring up at the ceiling either.
I'm going to go and try to post more flyers. I think I'll hit Ultrecht- they have a community bulletin board there. I think it's too late to stop at MICA or Peabody, I can do that tomorrow.

Date: 2006-06-14 11:51 am (UTC)The Methodist chuch is very pretty inside as well. I never really liked the outside, though. Too heavy, too asymetrically pushed to the wrong side (to my eyes). I'd always get flyers from them on my car about how they welcomed people of all ethnicities and sexual orientations, though, so they must have been a pretty nice congregation.
