I have a six-year-old in the house for the week. My niece Samantha is here to visit. pagandenma and anyone else with kids or kid-friendly that wants to get together and do crazy thigns, drop me a comment or give me a call!

(Right now, Child is upstairs in my room....attempting to read The Illad. Heh.)

What a good kid! I wish I had had a copy lying around at that age. But oi, the death scenes...which translation? White is pretty plain English, but Lattimore and Fagles let the Greek out of its cage and go on and on about the way men die. Not that a six year old can't necessarily handle that, but oi.

emphasis on the "attempting"...lol...though yesterday when we were on the bus i read a couple of the homeric hymns to her- she pulled it out of my backpack and asked me to read.
