Why in the effing H-E-double-hocky-sticks are my neighbors doing construction at fricken midnight? I'm talking about VERY loud power tools here. We're on the other side of a brick wall and stuff on my desk is vibrating.

*ponders going next door and bitching them out*

Edit: went next door and told them to knock it off. Looks like the neighbor has contractors. They said they weren't going to stop working, but would cut the power tools. I don't care what happens as long as the noise stops...but so far, even without power tools, they're making just as much noise as they were before. If they're still doing this when i'm ready to go to sleep, I'm calling the police.

Edit again: They woke Steph up. She called the police. They're starting the power tools again.

What did the cops do? Did they show up? That's just ludicrous, doing work with ppower tools at that time of day. WTF, mate?

Last I checked I thought Baltimore had a noise ordinance- whereas they had to cut it at like 10 or something.

City ordinance states that construction may take place between the hours of 7 am to 7 pm.

Oh, BTW, the cops showed up, 2 cars, one officer went to the door, was there for about 30 seconds and walked away. A comment was heard that he had given them (the contractors) a warning.

They stopped making noise at that point but started promptly at 7 am this morning! Ugh. So, we didn't get to sleep until about 1:30am or later because the cops showed up around 1am...I called about 10 till 1, they made great time. That being said, it should make the house warding ritual even more interesting!
