badstarHad a celebratory pizza today, and not long after that, Killina called and asked if we wanted to go to the DC Pagan Night Out...which was being held at Mandalay, the Burmese restaurant that we went to after the rally on July 4th. They didn't have pineapple ice cream this time, so I was all kinds of bummed out. But I got a ginger salad with my meal instead...and I had spring rolls with spicy sauce, and shrimp with cilantro and other greens in a mustard sauce- somehow when I ask for "medium spicy", it turns out to be mild at most. Still REALLY good, but definitely not "medium". Ah well, I know not to ask for it not spicy. And I had iced Myanmar coffee...which is to say, exactly what Kathy calls Vietnamese coffee. Which is really strong coffee with condensed milk, so it's really sweet, and really rich and velvety in consistency, and still really strong coffee.
Then we wandered off to a Starbucks with a Borders nearby. I found a book I REALLY want, The Complete Greek Temples by Tony Spanforth. Wow. Awesome book. $40....and I was SO tempted to buy it right then...but I didn't. And I actually saw the Klimt Tarot...*drool* Must...Wait....Til...October...(book/deck/bag set are released then, and it's listed price is only maybe $5 more than the deck alone)
And then Jesse is showing me a book in the history section. Caesar's Gaul, I think...and in the middle of a paragraph he was reading out loud, I look to my side and see this big book with like, bilboard-sized letters titled "The Encyclopedia Of Unusual Sex Practices"...I interrupted and commented that my inner 12-year-old was giggling insanely at that. I had been meaning to make a comment about some recent news article that I had been reminded about from his reading from the Caesar book, when he looked up on the shelf and said "Busty!"...to which I laugh more, and then he says "No, really it's a book called "Busty" and shows me a book with a woman's cleavage spilling out of a low-cut top on the cover.
At that point, I just completely lost my train of thought. It took a minute or two to remember what I was going to say.
Yeah, so things are much better.
