Nov. 24th, 2006 06:07 pmSo I went to the Baltimore Tattoo Museum today to get some finalization on the design for my tattoo.
And I've realized that I just couldn't quite make what I wanted work around the placement of my currently-existig tattoo (smack in the middle of my left shoulder...I was going to get a swan with its wings upstretched in a V.
And then I realized it wouldn't quite work like I wanted, so I was going to move it to the top/middle of my back with the wings across my shoulders...but then I didn't want to have it sitting in water, but I didn't want to show its feet (it would just take away from the aesthetics of the design)
So...since what is symbolized by the swan matters much more than the swan itself, I decided to go with somehting else.
I'm going to get a cypress tree up the center of my back, with the 21st Homeric hymn (it's one of the very short ones...4 or 5 lines) either at the top...or I'm starting to lean towards putting it on my right shoulder.
While I'm at it, I'm gonna have the original tattoo cleaned up a bit- the lines fixed, and filled in solid red.
I hope to be putting down a deposit for the first appointment by the end of the coming week.
