I really hate computers right now

The Evil...Now also being referred to as El Diablo has another spyware infestation. I'm sick of this. Despite antivirus and antispyware and all that crap, I can barely use this fucking computer.

The installation of Tiger on the PC worked for all of about 3 mintues before everyhting started to become corrupted. So I can't use that. Not with Tiger anyway.

I tried downloading Firefox on this one...fgot what seemed to be several corrupted downloads that came up in Russian...then I downloaded it again, it came up in English, launched, ran for a few mintues and just went *poof* When I try to open it now, I get some message about not being about to find a dynamic library file. Oh yeah, and it has a fucking built-in Yahoo toolbar? I don't want that.

Until I get the money to buy a Mac am I really stuck constantly wiping the hard drive? I shouldn't have to deal with this.

I managed to get a few of the things disabled on this computer for the moment and now it's at least useable...barely.

So my next plan is to wipe the pseudo-Mac, install Windopws, get it online long enough to grab Firefox, install that and kick anyone I catch using IE in the shins.

This is beyond unreasonable.

what anti virus do you use?

You may want to try Opera if you're having a lot of Firefox Issues. I love Firefox, but I also have the "No Script" extension installed which prevents all scripts (except those you allow) from being downloaded from any sites.

I also use Avast antivirus (It's free), and keep the default Windows Firewall on, if those help at all.

No option for ghosting it for quick restore?

I'm surprised you haven't gone linux by now, out of frustration. I know, housemates wouldn't know how to use it.
