So way bac after the weird conversation with my father, I had called my mom to ask if she knew anything about the rumors being spread through the family about me. she called me back that Saturday, I couldn't talk, she was going to cal me that Sunday but never did...finally I set her an email list night telling her that dad had heard some rumors that I was a lesbian, asked if she's heard any such thing.

Her response was that she hadn't, but thought it was funny as hell. Asked how the rest of the call went, and then commented that she thought I should have told him that yes, I was indeed a lesbian, just to see the look on his face.

So far, my only response was to tell her that that would have been impressive, considering that it was a phone call.

On a somewhat less humorous note...I don't really see a point in being all "Hey Mumsie, by the way, I'm bi." but I'm having some mom vs. dad issues with the fact that my father, with whom speaking to three times in the same calendar year constitutes a great abundance of communication now knows this, but my mother who, despite her wackjob theories and whatever else, actually knows and cares what's going on in my life and has been a continuous presence and parental figure (as much as I've really allowed her to be a "parental figure") is clueless. I actually thought she may have suspected, but that response says "no" to me. It's like if anyone has even the vaguest hint of a right to know, it's my mom.

I feel kinda dumb, making a much bigger deal of this than it is. The last thing I want to do is make a big production about it, but at the same time, it just doesn't seem right to fire it off in an email. Dunno why.

On a completely different note...I just got a message from Liz, who is in Taiwan with Dan for the next two years...she's found a book on Apollo that may be Kerenyi's book- she needed me to confirm the author, but didn't actually mention the author of the book she found...and the title is in Chinese.

I think it would be rather random and extremely cool to have books on Apollo in foreign languages...provided that they include English test so that I can read them of course.

It sounds like she's either found multiple books, or multiple copies of the same book...can't wait to hear what she's come across.

Sounds like your family is a lot like mine. I wonder if many Pagans have similiar family histories. Not mention, I have met more bi folks in Paganism than I have anywhere else. (Me bi too.)
