I slept pretty well last night.

Was woken up this morning though by firemen going door to door checking to see if people have smoke detectors *grumble*

Okay...so amongst various things I need to do this week, high on the list is to write the essay and submit it for the initiates program. Skip said he doesn't think there should be a need for re-evaluation, though he had to check, just that the essay is needed. Okay, that's cool.

Now I'm going to think about lunch. Or maybe going back to sleep. Haven't yet made my mind up.

Excellent!

I am embarrassed to admit it but I have a rough draft of my IP essay completed. After I did it I realized how premature it is and promised myself to put aside until I am nearer to completing the DP.

I still read through it sometimes though.

I started writing my CTP essay looooong before I was able to submit it. I wrote a new draft every so often, and would go back over it and revise it. In the end, I sat down one night at work, after I had finished the DP, but before it was actually submitted and wrote it off, completely different from anything I'd written before. Excepting a few typos I sent that one off without editing or revision. That's the one still up on the website, the one under which I was approved to work on the program.

I don't think it's an embarrassing thing to have already started on it. If it's your plan to move directly on to the IP, then I think it even makes sense to be looking at the essay well ahead of time...I've gotten funny looks from time to time, but I joined ADF and started the DP after I decided that I was going to do the CTP. Actually, that was my reason for joining ADF. Before that, I was involved with Cedarlight Grove- but not a member- for nearly a year.

Just keep in mind that your answers might change as you go along.

For me I joined specifically FOR the DP, I am not sure when my focus changed but I can honestly say now that I now doing the DP to get to the Initiates Program.

But now I am doing a lot of work perhaps starting a protogrove in my area and I am wondering if I should consider the CTP, or both!

See... it is trains of thought like that, because I am habitual joiner, that get in me in trouble. If I let myself I would edit that essay once a week!

Why not do it, give it a shot for a few weeks? It might be that your thoughts are evolving and working themselves out, and it might be useful in becoming more certain on your focus. Not necessarily spending hours on it, but look over it and give some consideration as to which thoughts are remaining the same, which are changing, maybe keeping a record of the different versions and comparing how they progress?

That is actually a really good point... never thought of it like that.
