Just watched The Fountain.

Wow, another movie that I think I will need to buy.

You watch a lot of movies

Well, let's put it this way: I'm tethered to a desk for twelve hours at a time three nights a week. Now that my job suddenly requires me to handle a constant stream of work in the form of emails that are so boring that I spend a majority of the time wanting nothing more than to shoot myself to get away from it, I can't just open a book and read until someone decides to grace me with a three-minute "we're closed, go away" call. Given the situation, anyone in their right mind would be looking for a viable means of entertainment. I can plunk a portable dvd player next to my monitor and watch the movie while processing the death, and Netflix keeps me in a steady stream of entertainment.

Love that movie!

Hate the bad Mayan scholarship, but love the movie.

Didn't think the Mayan stuff was likely so great, but I know more about the Aztecs than the Mayans.

It's probably my favorite movie. I even have the soundtrack, 'cause it's just that awesome. Yeah, like [livejournal.com profile] heartofmoon said, the Maya scholarship isn't so hot, but that didn't really detract from the story too much for me. I cry every time I see it.

Now I want to watch it again!

I thought it was a gorgeous movie, but something about the story left me kind of cold. I guess the fact that he didn't figure out that he should live his life until right before he died made the whole thing seem like kind of a waste.

The Fountain flows Deep

The Fountain has become one of my all time favorite movies. Everytime I watch it, I find new things, or disover new connections or ideas.

I still don't totally understand everything in it. But that's one of the reasons I like it so much.

Unrelated, I'm going back and reading your journal, because I'm trying to figure out what's going on with you Renee.
Things seem to be complex in your life right now. Trying to understand that complexity.
