Little kid at work last night, pointing at me "Mommy look that lady's wearing one of those star necklaces, you said they're bad! That means we need to pray for her right?"

Mommy, giving me a REALLY NASTY look "yes dear, some people need all the help they can get to make the right choices in life."

Me, in the most sickeningly sweet voice i could muster: "Hi! How are you this evening? Did you find everythign you were looking for?"

Not wearing my "bad star necklace" doesn't do anything about the fact that these people can't just agree to disagree and get on with their lives.

*Sigh* I know where you're at. You wouldn't believe (or maybe you would) how many people feel the need to pray for me, and a lot of them I met in college. I even had a guy do the whole laying of hands thing, touching my eyes during his prayer, and at the end, ask, "Well, do you see anything?" Do you know how tempting it was to just jump up and down and shout, "YES! YES! OH MY GOD, I CAN SEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!" (Later, a friend of mine said I should've looked into the sun and said, "YES! I can SEEEEEEEEE the light!!!"...LOL)

Personally, I have a view that pisses off a lot of people...well, it probably does, and I'm sure it makes a bunch of others very uncomfortable...and that is...when it's all over, we'll find that God has a fantastic sense of humor and the joke's on us. Won't we be surprised when we find that we were just fighting about stupid shit and none got the bigger picture? Anyway...maybe you should make up some pamphlets or something for them.
