Ice!!!!

Okay, it's not going to completely fix things, but it does offer substantial temporary relief. I have a bag sitting on the sore spot between my neck and shoulder and while the fingers are more tingly than I'd like...they're not as bad as they were, and most of the numbness is alleviated for the moment. Cold reduces swelling. Clearly there is swelling at that point.

The only drawback is that I have to hold my head at a kinda odd angle to keep the bag in place. It's not that bad though, just feels a little funny.

Edit: Well hell. ten minutes later, it's worse than it was before. My fingers actually hurt- it's like the tingle has turned to a painful pins and needles, and otherwise, they are semi-numb, as well as numbness covering a larger part of the palm of my hand, as well as part of the back of it, up near my wrist. *cries*

Since cold hasn't worked, try heat. I'm willing to bet there's a tight muscle/knot there. Anything to loosen it will probably make the pinched nerve feel better.

I don't know how you hurt yourself, since I'm still catching up on entries, but have you tried mineral ice or other such cream. They're really good. The other direction is to get a heating pad. Good luck and if I think of anything else, I'll let you know.
