Dear Mumsie,

I know it's a parental thing to lecture about stuff like water intake, but did you miss the bit where I said I've been practically surgically attached to a three-liter bottle of water since Saturday? And then you lecture me about eating enough fruit...after I've told you that that's almost all I ate all weekend.

If you really must lecture me, could you be sure to not lecture me about doing something that I'm already doing?

My wife has been lectured by our midwife to drink a glass of water every HOUR in hot weather. Now mind you, we have very granola-ey midwives for a reason. They'll do everything they possibly can to keep medicine out of her unless it's truly needed, but that means we have to do our part and that includes almost extreme levels of hydration.

Dude!!! My crazy mom was lecturing me at one point that I don't get enough *salt* in my diet... cause, um, the average American diet *doesn't* include about 10 times the recommended daily salt intake?!?!?!?
