Hey all you former boy/girl scouts, sailors, rock climbers and anyone else who knows a thing or three about knots...

I'm trying to figure out how to tie two ends of a thin leather-like cord together using some combination of knots that would allow one or both of the knots to slip and therefore, adjust the size- it's a necklace.

Two half hitches through a bowline loop were suggested to me last night and sounded great in theory but in practice, the half hitches won't tie tight enough on this cord to remain tied, even with a stop knot and the person who suggested it to me isn't around right now to ask for any other ideas.

So...anyone? I know that I've seen this done before...remember those silly nylon friendship bracelets that you used to get out of gumball machines in the late 80's that were adjustable? That's the sort of sliding knot I'm thinking of, I just can't seem to find the right search terms to google.

Edit: Well geez I think I found what I'm looking for...why didn't I think to try googling "adjustable sliding knot" before???
