GOD COMPLEX’s Apollo has hung up his superhero cape and now lives in hiding from his fellow gods as a mortal named Paul. Yet the Pantheon are so eager to get him back in their ranks they’ll do whatever it takes to win him back, even if it against his will. For Paul, life as a mortal has just gotten complex.

The cover image has got to be one of the single ugliest pieces of so-called art I've ever seen, nevermind what I assume to be a depiction of Apollo.

This just sounds stupid, but I'm masochistic enough that I'll probably go looking for a copy so I can read it and cry.

You know what really pisses me off? They take our Gods as commics, cartoons, superheroes etc but Gods forbid they ever did that with Jesus, Budah, the Hindu deities etc. It's like we're the butt of everyone's jokes and they're so pristine and clear. I mean, look at the way they made the Bible movies. Everything's all perfect and crap, which isn't really true, but anyway. Yet when they make movies from our myths, they turn them into funny little cartoons.

You know, it doesn't bother me *that it happens*, much as I will probably permantnly injure my eyes for rolling them so hard at many of the depictions you see. To the people writing these things (or, a vast majority at least), they're storybook characters, not gods to actually be believed in. I find it hard to blame them when they've been culturally presented as such for hundreds of years now.

But bad artwork and ridiculously cheesy stories? Makes me cry. For the love of Bob, at least make them look good and write decent stories.

Don't even get me started on Disney's Hercules...

(Oh, and there has been at least some making of biblical stories into cartoons and movies...Prince of Egypt, for example- which I actually kinda wanted to see when it was first made.)

That is just sad.

Yup. Why can't the artwork at least look good? I can't imagine in what universe anyone could think that was any sort of depiction of Apollo.
