I think my nose is actually literally dripping water (or well, tears?). This is driving me bats. Not only that, but every time it starts doing that, m right eye starts watering as well. (Only the right side of my nose is running.)

Gah, this needs to end. For serious. I've nearly killed a box of kleenex today (the 200-count size).

Feh.

I love how having a cold fucks with my sense of taste.

I'm tasting aspartame in stuff that does not contain aspartameould not) I've scanned the label obsessively for the last three minutes to determine that no, I have in fact, not missed it somewhere in the ingredients list. And sugar is the number two ingredient after filtered water.

I hate the taste of aspartame.

Okay, I's gonna make chicken soup now- like, real homemade stuff. I've never done chicken soup before. This should be good.

Well, my voice sends like hell and I'm getting more stuffed up but I don't feel like I've been gargling coarse sand anymore, and any soreness in my throat is relegated to one side, and only really felt when I swallow...and is fading fast, thank goodness.

Unfortunately, I woke up at three and wasn't able to go back to sleep. I guess in a few minutes here I'll go take a shower and look at wandering off for an appointment. (I found out at work last night that Dave decided he didn't feel like dealing with me making a schedule request every two weeks and there's no way in the system to put in an ongoing biweekly schedule change so that I can come in a little later so he's just given me authorization to come in as late as 10pm on Tuesday nights without penalty. Convenient. Once in a while, Dave is less irritating.)

Now, off to showerland and hoping that some nice hot steam is good for my stuffiness.

Symptoms of recovery are frequently worse than anything else when I have a cold.

I have a perpetually itchy throat and ears. Due to this, I cough a lot more, often enough to give myself a headache or make me gag.

I wish I had thought to pick up more cough syrup. I took the rest of it the other night. Oh well. too late now.

I slept decently last night, so I'm not ready to fall over. This is good.

I called out of work today and slept til 3pm. I'm worried that I might not sleep tonight.

On the up side, I feel a lot better.

I didn't sleep much lat night and I think i'm coming dwn with something. My throat is kinda sore this morning and I've got the sniffles.

I had a weird dream last night...or maybe it was a series of dreams, I'm not sure. But what I remember of it was initially seeing a silhouette of a house near a hill and a night sky. Countryish Lancaster-County-like setting. And then periodically through the dream I would feel like I was falling through a silent black void, sometimes I would see some stars like a night sky (Much like the scene at the very beginning of the game Myst, if anyone remembers that....) and then I would stop falling, as if I had been on solid ground all the time. The space I was in was still completely black with no light source but I was able to see normally. Each time I stopped falling, I found myself in the presence of a god. I only remember two for sure, but I know it happened more than that. The first that I remember specifically was Dionysus. It was like a chance passing of an aquaintence in a hallway. "Oh, it's you. Hello," he said, smiled slightly and walked on. He had very long, purple-black hair and wore a black suit. Tie and all. Like Men In Black. But no sunglasses.

The other that I remember was Hekate. I did not see Her, but felt her presence, first slithering around me like a snake and then settled into a permeating pressure, like somethgin pressing into my skin from all sides, but it was oddly not overwhelming or intrusive. There was a sense of someone walking around me in circles, slowly...almost as if inspecting me, and eventually I had a feeling of approval, as if I had passed inspection or...whatever it was.

I know that there were other meetings with other gods, all of which I am familiar through their mythology but none that I particularly worship closely- I don't think any others were particularly notable enough that I remember them or maybe I just lost a lot of the dream between sleeping and waking. In between each "meeting", I fell through the black void again.

At the end of the dream I was on a residential city street, still at night. All the house porch lights were off except for mine (This neighborhood in my dream was not mine, and OI have never lived in a neighborhood resembling this, but it is a familiar scene to many I'm sure. Residntial city, semi-detatched two-story brick homes with porches and small front yards). One of my bothers was sitting on a sofa on the porch, waiting for someone else, I didn't speak to him, but opened the front window of the house and crawled in and went to sleep.
