marylith This is far too funny. Safe for work, unless your superiors have no sense of humor. Or if you're not allowed to surf the net. In which case, you probably shouldn't be reading my journal either.
If you do read it, be sure to click on the many linked references, especially the open letter to the school board, and their responses. If you're not too busy laughing your ass off.
pirateswitters and
slightlymadman, if you're stil reading LJ I think you'll apreciate some of the sentiments expressed, such as
"Global warming, earthquakes, hurricanes, and other natural disasters are a direct consequence of the decline in numbers of pirates since the 1800s. A graph showing the inverse correlation between the pirates and global temperatures was also provided. This was presumably intended to highlight the logical fallacy of correlation implying causation."

Such is the power of logic... bread and pickles will be ruin of humanity -- deaths from these two items are on the rise, as anybody that has ever eaten bread or pickles has or will die in the next 200 years. There is no proof, however, that eating both bread and pickles will kill you any faster than eating them alone, but the fact remains that they are hazardous and should no longer be sold to young children.
