yet another news article. Also does not require registration to view...but back in June, when Billy Corgan released a solo album, he also announced possible intentions to get the Smashing Pumpkins back together.
This isn't really a new thing. The article is from June, but I just saw it, so it's new to me. I'm not going to get my hopes up, but if the reunion of what is probably my favorite band of all time is a future possibility, I will very much look forward to seeing what they do. I saw them in concert in Dallas back in 1997 (Many of you have heard tell of the Matchbox 20/Dave Matthews Band/Smashing Pumpkins/Rolling Stones concert that I went to...the Pumpkins being the only real reason that I was there to begin with. i missed Matchbox 20...wasn't too concerned about that. Not really a DMB fan with the exception of one or two songs...but seeing them live was really amazing. And the Stones...well hey, I can say I've seen them in concert. They did a bang-up job...hell, they've had enough practice. But I'm not much of a fan. Plus, Mick Jagger scares me. And Keith Richards would be the only creature besides cockroaches capable of surviving a nuclear blast. But seeing the Pumpkins in concert...that was reay amazing. Before that concert, I had only really listened to the most popular songs. Their performance of Thru The Eyes Of Ruby...which I had never really listened to before...just blew me away.
The world just doesn't have enough beautiful music...
And I'm hungry.
