The bank returned my rent check..for insufficient funds...WHEN THERE WAS MORE THAN ENOUGH MONEY IN THE BANK TO COVER THE CHECK.
Supposedly it was deposited on the 3rd. When I asked them on Friday (the 4th) if that check had been deposited- because I was really confused to find the money still in my account- they said there was no activity on the account whatsoever the day before. I have deposit reciepts and stuff saying how much money I had in the bank.
It was really lucky that I got a call from Mea about this when I did because I was able to stop at the bank on my way to work and pull the money out of my account and deposit it into hers. (They wouldn't let me do this over the phone for some reason?)
In other news, I now own a copy of Illiad and The Odyssey. I only ordered it a month ago.
And I woke up this morning to some really whacked-out dreams.

Date: 2005-11-08 11:48 pm (UTC)If you're seriously into Homer, you'd do extremely well to read Dan Simmons' Ilium and Olympos. It's a hard SF twist on the material, with some gratuitous sex, violence, philosophy, and literature. (With many thanks to phil! for introducing me to it.)
