It seemed a little funny when I walked in 15 minutes early, and they told me to have a seat, and then it was half an hour AFTER the interview time til I actually had the interview, all the while people would be "right out to talk to me". Meanwhile someone else shows up, apparently with the same interview time, but at noon right on the spot and is seen immediately.
I was specifically told not to bring anyhting with me, including a resumé because one would be sent over along with a customer service test that the temp place had me take (which, by the way they said I had one of the highest scores they'd ever gotten from people applying in their office). So finally this lady walks out and says she's doing the interview and asks for my resumé...I told her that I was told not to bring one and that it was to have been sent over with my test score. She was thoroughly confused. And had to go searching for it, finally finding it "on someone's desk". Never did bother to look at it during the interview. Other than that, it seemed to go well. Once we started talking, she was friendly and cracking jokes, and I thought I did a decent job of telling about my experience and all. And then she asked me to fill out an application so they could have that on file and to leave it with the receptionist. She said I'd hear in a few days. Which was odd, because the temp place said I'd find out from them today. So I filled out the application and left.
About an hour later as directed, I called the temp place. They asked how I thought it went and all and then told me I had the job. Yay and stuff.
Then about 20 minutes later, someone else from the office calls me back and tells me oops, sorry...ikea just called them back. They mixed me up with another applicant named Renee, and they were offering her the job, not me.
Good grief, how irresponsible are people? And all this time I thought Ikea was a decent company. But they wouldn't give details as to why they weren't hiring me.
Oh, and I also found out that I didn't pass the "skills assessment" from last week. Also no details as to why. But I can try again in 6 months! Great.
Oh well, it was an hour to get there by bus, and I had to wait over half an hour for a bus to come home I don't want to deal with a commute like that.
To add insult to injury, when the 35 finally got back into the city, I hopped off down by Mercy to come over to Calvert and take either the 61 or 64 back up to the house. I'm standing right beside the bus stop sign, and the bus pulls up...and past me. Stops, and someone gets out the back door, the front doesn't open. I walk up to the front door, the bus is stills tanding there, but the driver doesn't open the door...just as I'm reaching out to knock on teh door, the bus pulls off, but is still moving very slowly...there was a red light, so I was able to cross the street to the next block where a couple of guys saw the bus pull off without me and they flagged it down, she stopped and opened the door...I got on the bus and swiped my pass, didn't say anyhitng and the driver says "Excuse me, you're welcome"...as if she had done me some favor? Bitch, please.
